Announcing My Launch
Did you miss me?
I haven’t written a newsblog in nearly two months. I’ve been focused on my BIG new project. I’m tickled pink that it launched on May 12, 2021!
What’s so special about the Joyful Inclusion Course for Teachers? Well, I’m so glad you asked. Let me tell you how it happened and all the influences I’m grateful for.
It all began on June 13 2020…
I broadcast an invitation through my newsblog to join with me in a Mastermind Community. I also reached out to folks I heard speaking in conference presentations and webinars.
I was delighted with the diversity of perspectives we represented — teachers, employment specialists, parents, parent advocates, professional developers, district administrators, special ed attorneys, and adults with disabilities.
We all found value in the collective exchange and decided to post our recordings on a website, freely available to anyone. You can access it here: www.includedmastermind.com
In March, 2021
I conducted a live webinar called, “Five Elements to Grow Joyful Inclusion in Any Setting,” incorporating new insights I gained from the Mastermind Community. My commitment in that webinar was to rekindle the joy that new teachers experience in teaching. Remember that joy? With all we’ve experienced in the last two school years, it may be a foggy memory. I believe that teacher joy is contagious and it feeds learner joy and family joy.
To date more than a hundred people have watched the webinar (live or replay). You can watch it here: Watch Webinar
With Gratitude…
A number of viewers signed up to serve as my live audience as I expanded the key principles of the webinar into a full course. Fifteen supportive individuals showed up regularly! They freely gave of their time and joyful energy. They shared their feedback and ideas for resources and my Joyful Stories Collection, and I’m grateful for their encouragement and co-creation. Their contributions made the course stronger.
And now… on May 12, 2021…
The first cohort for this course began! Yay! I dream that teachers all over the country will discover little joyful ways they can adjust their daily interactions with colleagues, their students, and their students’ families. Will you be part of the movement?
You could register to take the course at YOUR pace, or you could join the summer cohort that will begin on July 1. The cohorts will meet with me four times by zoom to share ideas, brainstorm possibilities, and have fun!! I hope you will discover ways to implement joyful inclusion, and your hearts will be rewarded with the satisfaction of knowing you’ve made a difference in the life of a child.
